Tranquility Farm, Purcellville, VA
Ann and John delighted in gathering family and friends to spend a weekend together to share in the joy of their wedding. Both Ann and John love being in nature and Tranquility Farm in Purcellville, VA along with its onsite accommodations checked many of their must haves. After a week of rain, their wedding day was sunny, warm and full of joy and merriment!

Ann and John met on Bumble and instantly connected over their shared love of travel, food and wine. Their first date was incredible, and they did not want the evening to end. Ann, having established a successful career, was looking for the right person to share her life with. John was divorced with two adult daughters and was seeking a companion who matched his drive and passion for nature, music and food.
John had initially planned to propose on a trip to Spain in May of 2020. Covid interrupted those plans and instead they hunkered down together at John’s house with their dogs. In July of 2021 they were able to get away to Emerald Isle, NC where John got down on one knee and asked Ann to marry him.

Ann and John wanted a traditional Christian wedding ceremony to reflect the seriousness of their union and the commitment they were making to each other and their families. It was important to honor their faith and find a catholic priest who would marry them outside of a church.
They wanted a wedding that was fun, with an upbeat atmosphere, great music, and lots of dancing. Awesome food and cocktails that were a step above traditional wedding fare was a must have. It was important that all the moments and memories of the day are captured to be enjoyed in the years to come.

We always say it is the fine details that evaluate and personalize a wedding. Ann and John got this and spent a lot of time thinking through everything that guests would see and experience. Starting with the escort wall that become a statement piece of the cocktail hour. Ann and John built the wall and meticulously researched each element of the cards, tassels, wax seals. etc. The telephone guest book, signage, menu cards, invitations, vow books as well as memorial chairs for each of their mothers who both sadly passed away months before the wedding were all carefully thought through.
They ensured adequate seating was available for their extended cocktail hour, adding pillows and blankets to make sure everyone was comfortable. The guitarist who sang throughout the cocktail hour, prosecco popsicles, creatively presented and delicious food as well as a guest appearance by the couples dogs, one of whom jumped in the fountain made it hard for guests to leave cocktail hour.

They asked that the design be classic and traditional and blend with the natural garden style of the venue. The goal was to enhance the beauty of the venue and add a nod to fall. Additionally, they wanted to elevate the rustic barn with white draping, beautiful textured linens and lots of lovely tabletop elements.
Flowers highlighted the designs of all the spaces. The loose wildflower feeling of the flowers amplified the natural garden theme. The wide range of flowers used mixed with striated greens also added to the nature theme.
Guest entered the barn for dinner and dancing and were seated at farm tables adorned with linens that were the foundation and inspiration for much of the color palette and design. Wooden charger plates complimented the wood walls of the barn, and the other items touched all the colors of the wedding color palette as well as adding texture and color. As a nod to their close and loving families in lieu of traditional parent dances Ann and John danced to “We Are Family” with John dancing with both of his grown daughters and then adding in all of their family members and packing the dance floor to dance the night away.

It was Ann and John’s wish for guests to remember their wedding as a fun, joy-filled, stunning, warm, and inviting weekend. They wanted everyone to notice the amazing attention to detail and remark that the day perfectly captured Ann and John. They hoped guests would enjoy the delicious food and beverages, the band who kept the dance floor packed and feel the love Ann and John have for each other and those who attended.
We think they accomplished and exceeded ALL of their goals!!
